Frequently Asked Questions

My pet needs a refill of their medication. What should I do?
Call the office or use the app to request a refill. If calling the office for a refill be sure to have the name of the medication, strength, amount needed, and directions on how it is given. We do ask for a 24–48-hour turnaround time for all prescription requests and refills.
When will I get my pets bloodwork results?

Depending on the tests the veterinarian requested, bloodwork can take up to one week to receive results. If a test will take longer than one week the veterinarian or technician will tell you at the time of testing.

When can I expect a return call from a veterinarian?

Usually between 24-48 hours depending on workload. To help streamline the process please give all questions and concerns to our CSR when they take the message for the veterinarian or email all questions to staff@severnaparkvh.com. Your email will be forwarded to the veterinarian. If you feel your questions are of an urgent nature, please schedule an appointment.

Do you ship prescriptions to my home?

We do not ship directly from our office, but we do partner with MyVetStoreOnline for direct-to-home shipping.

Can I return my pet’s prescription?

Due to state and federal laws, we are unable to accept returned prescriptions.

My veterinarian prescribed a prescription diet for my pet. Where can I buy this food?

We carry Hill’s Prescription diets in the hospital. We receive delivery weekly from Hills. To order your pet’s food please contact the office by Wednesday and your pet’s food should arrive by Friday the same week.

All other prescription diets can be ordered through our online store MyVetStoreOnline. MyVetStoreOnline also carries Hill’s RX diets.

If you would like to get your pet’s prescription diet from another online retailer, we will be happy to provide a written script to send to any pharmacy of your choice.
