Senior Pet Wellness

Our furry companions unfortunately age much more quickly than us humans, and as such, their medical needs can change quickly over a span of just a few years. At Severna Park Veterinary Hospital, we understand the importance of growing and changing the care plan for your pet right along with them.

Starting at approximately 7 years of age, we recommend twice-a-year senior wellness visits that include a full physical examination, as well as a thorough discussion of lifestyle risks, diet, habits, and changes in behavior. We also offer yearly senior bloodwork, recommendations for joint health and pain management for arthritis, as well as other supplements, therapies, or medications specific to your pet’s changing needs. Our patients can’t tell us if they are in pain or aren’t feeling well as they age, and we believe thorough senior wellness exams lead to early diagnosis of problems, more successful treatment, and a longer, healthier life for your pet.
